Having studied at Canterbury Christ Church University, I graduated with a Masters degree in Music Composition (Distinction); following a BMus.(1st). With composition guidance from the former Master-of-the-Queens-Music Sir Peter Maxwell Davis and Professor Roderick Watkins; Baroque & Classical Harmony with Dr. Thomas Oehler (Paris Conservatoire, Royal Academy of Music); and Sound Art with sonic artist & turntablist Matt Wright.

Recent compositions include Eight Sections for String Quartet for The Maggini Quartet, and Blue, Yellow & Red Plasticine for The London Sinfonietta; performed in the Sounds New Festival, May 2014.

The art installation Canterbury - a piece conceived and created in collaboration with painter Andy Howe - was installed in The Lilford Gallery; during the Canterbury Festival, October 2014.

Current work-in-progress includes a piece for four string quartets, flute and percussion, placed apart in the performance space; incorporating the idea of sound in three dimensions. As well as writing a Phd proposal.

As a composer, I have had many pieces of various genres performed; including ...
  • songwriting & arrangements for the funk rock band StormWater
  • folk songs performed by The Floorboard Family
  • orchestral arrangements for John Hursey's children's musical The Hurry Curry Café
  • creative remixes for BishopRadio
  • a piece for the modern chamber ensemble The Splinter Cell
  • a large orchestral piece - No Stone Unturned - performed by Canterbury Christ Church University's Symphonic Winds ensemble; score sample available here.

I am an experienced orchestrator and arranger, and am very experienced in the use of Sibelius, for producing professional scores and creating parts for large ensembles.
